Brian advises on the strategic vision for BW&A as it seeks to serve existing clients, enter into new markets and undertake new projects and investments. He has been involved in over $3.5 billion of business and real estate development throughout the U.S. He has a long history of consulting on a full range of governmental, development and economic planning issues, attended Virginia Tech, earning a B.A. in Political Science in 1975 and an M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning in 1977. Past positions include Director of the Hotel Roanoke Conference Center Commission and Chief of Economic Development for the City of Roanoke, VA. He is also a former adjunct faculty member at Virginia Tech’s School of Urban Planning and Affairs. Brian has been a frequent speaker at a variety of conferences on the subject of tax credits and other financial incentives. Brian has also received a number of economic development awards and served on numerous boards including the Virginia Governor’s Advisory Council on Small Business, Downtown Roanoke, Inc., the Roanoke Convention and Visitors Bureau. Brian is married with three children and four grandchildren.
