Brian Wishneff & Associates
Founded in 1995, Brian Wishneff & Associates is a consulting firm founded on the principle of helping entities find a way to achieve their development projects. We encourage you to view a sampling of our many satisfied clients.
Brian Wishneff, President
Mr. Wishneff, who consults on a full range of governmental, development and economic planning issues, attended Virginia Tech, earning a B.A. in Political Science in 1975 and an M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning in 1977. Past positions include Director of the Hotel Roanoke Conference Center Commission and Chief of Economic Development for the City of Roanoke, VA. Mr. Wishneff was elected to Roanoke City Council and started his four year term on July 1, 2004. Mr. Wishneff is married with three children.

Erik Wishneff, Vice President & General Counsel
Mr. Wishneff joined BW&A in 2007. Prior to joining BW&A, Mr. Wishneff worked for a national homebuilder serving as Division Counsel and Director of Land Acquisitions where his duties included identifying, negotiating and securing new land for residential development as well as assisting with the entitlement process for these developments. Mr. Wishneff began his legal career in private practice where his clients included various developers, builders and lenders. Mr. Wishneff received a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech and his J. D. from George Mason University School of Law. He is married and resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife and dog.

Nelett Lor, Vice President
Ms. Lor joined BW&A in 2005 and attended Sullivan County Community College in New York and Hollins University in Virginia. Ms. Lor, a native of New York state, came to BW&A from Southeast RCAP after seven years of successful project development including new construction, rehabilitation and renovation. She was responsible for identifying and securing the funding needed for major projects.

Kim Duncan, Office Manager
Ms. Duncan joined BW&A in 1999 and attended Virginia Tech and Virginia Western Community College. Past positions include fifteen years with the Roanoke City’s Office of Economic Development and as part of the Hotel Roanoke Conference Center Commission. With BW&A, Ms. Duncan is responsible for the daily operations of the firm including providing customer service to internal and external clients. She creates and updates marketing pieces, general company information, custom client packages and web site development. She is married and resides in Roanoke, VA with her husband and 4 cats and 2 dogs.

Adam Markwood, Associate, LEED AP
Mr. Markwood comes to BW&A from a national planning and architecture firm in Philadelphia, PA where he focused on assisting with the design of LEED registered buildings, sustainable urban design plans and large-scale green plans. Prior to this position, Mr. Markwood worked for a regional planning commission in Southwestern Virginia where he assisted in the coordination of regional sustainability initiatives. Mr. Markwood received his degree from Virginia Tech in Public and Urban Affairs. He is a LEED accredited professional and is on the Roanoke City Fair Housing Board.
